The engineering firm in charge of the Brock Street/Safe Routes to School Sidewalk Project had their bid opening Wednesday at city hall in Buffalo.

Three bids were opened and read by Jeff Feck, engineer with Vista West Engineering of Sheridan.

The engineer's estimate for the project was $222,855. EHC, Inc. of Deaver had the low bid with just over $218,000; SG Welsh of Buffalo was next with a bid of approximately $231,500; and the last bid came from Proline, Inc. of Sheridan with a bid of roughly $257,000.

Vista West will double-check all three bids for any errors, and all information will be put into a spreadsheet for presentation to the Buffalo City Council next month.

Buffalo City Planner Zach Montgomery explains what the next step in the process will be.

The sidewalk project is expected to be completed this fall.
