Buffalo Senior Center Acting Director Sally Frost and Board of Directors member C.W. “Burley” Johnson came before the Buffalo City Council Tuesday to present estimates for the replacement of the roof on the city-owned Buffalo Senior Center Building.

They had brought their request for a new roof before the council at their last meeting, and were advised to get estimates for the repairs and bring them before the council.

Johnson gave them the estimates.

The senior center will be awarding the bid, but funding will come from the City of Buffalo; therefore, the council agreed to allow the senior center to award the bid for up to $45,000.

Should the bill go over that amount, the senior center will have to come before the council with another request. The bid will be awarded and work is expected to be completed yet this fall.

The money for the project will come out of the City's Building Maintenance Fund.
