Buffalo Police Begin Searching For New Dispatcher

Buffalo Police Chief Jason Carder asked the Buffalo City Council for permission to begin searching for a new dispatcher.

Carder said Dispatcher Rex Maxwell's last day on the job will be December 21st, and he would like to begin advertising for the opening after the Holidays. He said the dispatch center should be able to operate with sufficient coverage until then, although there may be some overtime hours involved.

Carder hopes to have the position filled by the end of January.

Carder also reported there were 1,059 incidents for November and there were three animal control calls in the county, each which carries a charge of $150.

Twenty-nine deer have been harvested since Tuesday, with more expected this week. He hopes the program will be completed this month.

Councilman, Russ Humphrey, and Carder discussed complaints from various retailers due to street closures downtown.

No Parking and Tow Away Zone signs will be installed along East Fetterman Street, near Crazy Woman Square.
