Buffalo Police: Alcohol Compliance Checks Mostly Positive

Buffalo Police Chief Jason Carder gave his monthly report for December to the city council at their last meeting, and said alcohol compliance checks performed netted only one that sold to a minor.

The checks were performed December 30th at 13 area liquor establishments, and the only one that failed the compliance check was the Elbow Room Lounge at Lake DeSmet.

He also reported that deer mitigation in the city has been cpmpleted with only six deer harvested, which is a significantly lower number than in recent years.
He explained that with the department's lack of time, the number of trials and amount of time spent at the courthouse contributed to the low number, as did the fact that when officers did have time to harvest them, the processing plant was too busy to handle the extra work.

Councilman Dave Long asked Carder if his officers helped with the recent multi-car crash at Piney Creek, and he said they did, in fact help.

Carder also reported 970 incidents during the month, 3,172 calls handled by dispatch, and no animal control calls in the county.
