Two proclamations were made concerning the American Legion.
The first was for November 8th as Poppy Day to remember those fallen in war.

The American Legion is dedicated to upholding the ideals of freedom and democracy while working to make a difference in the lives of Americans.
The American Legion Auxiliary was also founded in 1919 to support the efforts of the American Legion.
