Buffalo May Have Buyer For Old Police Radio Consoles

Buffalo Police Lieutenant Andy Tkach, filling in for Police Chief Mike Chapman, reported to the City Council that an interested party had approached the department seeking to purchase the old police radio/dispatch consoles, once the new justice center is functional.

Wireless Advanced Communications has offered $500 each for the two consoles outright, or credit the account for the new consoles being installed in the new facility.

City Attorney Ben Kirven explained that by state statute, the radio consoles must be sold publicly after a hearing, which is advertised beforehand, because of the value of the items.

The hearing will be at the next council meeting July 19.
