The Johnson County Commissioners and Buffalo City Council will review information on the proposed joint city/county engineer position at each of their meetings Tuesday.

City Planner Zach Montgomery and County Planner Rob Yingling have been compiling information and answering other questions raised by the city council and county commission in recent weeks, as the two entities have looked into adding the position.

The two have been working with engineers from Powell, Newcastle, Torrington and Cody to answer those questions. Montgomery explains further how they compiled the data.

Montgomery said there are still a number of details that need to be worked out, such as where will the engineer be located, how a vehicle will be furnished, and who will provide insurance and benefits.

The details will be worked out later, but Montgomery and Yingling are hoping that on Tuesday the elected officials will agree that the position is necessary and allow them to pursue hiring a city/county engineer.

Other items on the county commissioner's agenda include presentations from the planning commission on subdivisions and boundary adjustments; the animal control agreement and maintenance at the Mikesell/Potts Recreation Area at Lake DeSmet.

The meeting begins at 9 am at the Johnson County Courthouse.
