The Buffalo Police Department has finished this year's deer harvest after recently reaching their goal of taking 75 animals from within city limits.

Sergeant Jason Carder spoke to the City Council earlier this week, saying they had reached their goal of 75 and had three of the carcasses test positive for Chronic Wasting Disease.

Those carcasses that tested positive for CWD were destroyed. This year's harvest was different in that a larger number of people signed up to receive a carcass they could process themselves, saving the city the cost of processing. The carcasses not claimed by private citizens were processed at city expense and the meat donated to the local Bread of Life Food Pantry.

Those final numbers, as Carder said, will be released at a later time.
