Buffalo Council Waives Tap Fees For County Fuel Station

At last week's city council meeting, Johnson County Commissioner Smokey Wildeman came before the council to request a waiver of water and sewer tap fees for the county's proposed fuel station, which is expected to be built just north of the county fire hall on King Lane.

The tap fees were $2,500 for a standard water tap and $1,500 for a standard sewer tap.

The county will install curb and gutter along King Lane and other amenities on the fuel station property and realign and upgrade King Lane with the idea of eventually tying in with the existing fairgrounds property to the north.

Other entities, such as the school district and the city, have also shown interest in using the fuel station in the future.
