Buffalo Council Releases Retainage, Acquires Street

At their last meeting the Buffalo City Council approved a request from City Works Director Les Hook to release half of the retainage to the contractor on the 18-inch water line project west of town.

The council also voted to acquire a portion of Upper Clear Creek Road that is marked as Parmalee east of Klondike that belonged to Johnson County. The county owned the deed to the small section of road but the city has been maintaining it for decades. The situation was discovered recently while the county was cleaning up deeds, easements and rights-of-way on file at the courthouse.

Hook also reported that Requests For Proposals (RFPs) will be advertised this week in the local newspaper for the Cemetery Road water line project to construct a line from the south tank to Cemetery Road near the high school.
