Buffalo Council OKs Elected, P/T Employees Insurance

At their last meeting, the Buffalo City Council approved Resolution No. 1357, which will allow part-time employees and elected officials the opportunity to participate in the city's health insurance plan.

Mayor Randy Dyess explained what the Resolution would allow certain part-time employees to do.

In addition to part-time employees, the benefit will be extended to the city council, city attorney, fire chief, municipal judge and other elected officials considered”part-time” employees.

The mayor said the City Of Sheridan had recently approved a similar measure for their part-time employees, but had opted to pay for their health insurance premiums, in the belief they would gather better part-time employees in the near term and then eventually better full-time employees.

The council voted unanimously to approve the Resolution.
