Buffalo Council Meets Today, County Commission Next Week

Buffalo's City Council will hold their first meeting of 2013 this afternoon, but the Johnson County Commission will wait until next week to have their first meeting of the new year.

Although no Agenda has been released yet, the City Council will welcome new member Dave Long, who won the seat in the 2012 General Election in November.
He will be sworn in and replace Scott Madsen on the council.

The council may also address possible hikes in sewer rates that was briefly touched on at their last meeting in December.

The meeting will be at 5pm this evening at Buffalo's City Hall.

At next week's meeting, the Johnson County Commission will also welcome a new member as Jim Hicks will take over the seat he won that was previously held by Albert “Smokey” Wildeman.

Their first meeting of 2013 will be Tuesday, January 8th at 9am in the historic courthouse.
