Buffalo Council Hears Update on Sewer Study

The Buffalo City Council got an update from Russell Engineering on its study on Buffalo's sewer system at last week's council meeting.
Brent Bennett, with Russell Engineering, told the council they have been working on a sewer modeling and infiltration study which is nearly complete.
The study may have been completed sooner, but Bennett told the council they had delays this spring because of the unusually wet weather, had to wait until it was closer to a “normal flow.”
Bennet told the council the study included all lines from the water treatment plant west of town to the wastewater treatment plant on Highway 16 East.
The study has included the southwest quadrant of the city as it is now, but will need to be adjusted if the city, county and school district are awarded the grant to upgrade that section of the city.
Uses for the city-sponsored study include master planning for capital improvement projects, rehabilitation planning for the existing sewer system, and sewer system design and impact studies for future growth.
