Buffalo Council to Discuss Purchase of Building

Buffalo's City Council will hold a public hearing on and discuss the purchase of a building located at 18 Plains Drive at tonight's council meeting.

The property is currently owned by the Kaycee/Buffalo/Johnson County Economic Development Joint Powers Board, and the city is in need of a new property for one of its departments.

Mayor Shane Schrader said the city, if the purchase is approved, will move the sanitation department and all of the trucks, equipment and other assets to that location.

He tells us more about the proposed purchase of the property.

Also on the agenda for the meeting, State Representative for House District 40 Richard Tass is scheduled to give a legislative update to the council; the council is expected to approve a liquor license transfer of location, a Resolution to set the amount of taxes to be raised for municipal purposes, and a permit for solid waste removal.
The mayor will also make two proclamations.

The meeting will get underway at 5pm Tuesday night in Buffalo's City Hall.
