Buffalo Council Awards Bid For Sewer Lift Station

The City of Buffalo has awarded the contract for the sanitary sewer lift station project, voting to give the contract to the lowest bidder, LJS Concrete and Excavating of Sheridan.

Their bid for the project was nearly $411,000 which will replace the lift station near the entrance to Deer Park Campground east of town.

Two other bids were received for the lift station, one from Barnum Incorporated of Buffalo for just over $449,000 and one from Mountain View Building of Sheridan for just over $1.6 million.

The engineer's estimate on the project was for $439,000.

Buffalo's City Council approved Mayor Mike Johnson to sign the contract once the bid was awarded.

According to earlier discussions between the council and City Works Director Les Hook, the lift station, which has been online since the mid-1980's, will be upgraded by up-sizing the pumps, installing a new backup generator, and a complete replacement of the control system from its current solid state technology to digital.
He said the upgrade will make the lift station more dependable.
