The Buffalo Police Department will be receiving a new vehicle after the City Council approved a bid for a 2011 Ford Expedition and a bid for installing the necessary equipment, for a total of $41,577.68.
Police Chief Mike Chapman made the request for approval to the council.
Chapman said a local company had put in a bid to install the equipment in the vehicle, but the bid was thrown out because it didn't meet the bid criteria. They bid for installation only, if the city purchased the equipment, and Chapman said the bid was supposed to be for supplying and installing the equipment.
Greiner Ford of Casper was the winning bidder for the vehicle and Wireless Advanced Communications of Casper for the equipment.
The city should take possession of the vehicle within a few weeks.
