Buffalo Council Approves Partial Final Payment For Project

At their Tuesday meeting, the Buffalo City Council approved a partial final payment to Barnum Construction on the 18-inch Water Transmission Line Project.

A landowner whose property the pipeline crossed during the project has been unhappy with the reclamation project on her land and has approached the city council on numerous occasions recently trying to get the contractor to fix the reclamation project on her land.

City Works Director Les Hook told the council that Barnum Construction was willing to do site leveling and re-seeding of grass in October. Hook suggested the city draft an MOU, or Memorandum Of Understanding that they would do so and that the city would release the final funds to them for the project.

After discussions between the council members on the possibility of retaining some of the final payment until the work is completed.

Councilman Bill Hawley then made a motion to that effect.

The council approved the motion unanimously.
