Buffalo Council Approves Liquor License Transfer

Buffalo Council Approves Liquor License Transfer

After tabling the transfer at their last meeting due to contradicting payoff amounts for back sales taxes owed against the license, the Buffalo City Council approved the transfer of the license at their last meeting.

There was confusion centered around the amount of sales taxes that were owed by Buffalo Properties, LLC and whether they were sales tax on restaurant sales, lodging taxes through the motel or sales taxes through liquor sales, which prompted the tabling of the issue to get the matter resolved.

Greg Goddard, attorney for the Buffalo Properties, LLC told the council at their last meeting that the lien amount against the license was $28,271.94 which covers taxes through May of this year.

The council, after discussions, moved to “release the lien plus any other payments that may be due” and to allow the transfer from Buffalo Properties, LLC dba Best Western Crossroads Inn to Marin Management, Inc.to move forward.

Also approved was a Restaurant Liquor License request from Dana R. Fowler for a new business called the Roasted Pepper, which will be located at 620 S. Main Street.
