Buffalo Council Approves Funding For Sewer Lift Station

Buffalo Council Approves Funding For Sewer Lift Station

A faulty sewer lift station east of Buffalo will be replaced after the city council approved funding and allowing City Works Director Les Hook to bid the project to have the station replaced.

Hook explained that the lift station is located roughly at the entrance to the Deer Park Campground on Highway 16 East and serves the Greenleaf Subdivision and essentially everything else east of the Maverik store near Interstate 25.

He asked the council to approve sending the project to bid and to allow the use of funds from the Sewer Reserve Fund, which has a balance of about $843,000.

Mayor Mike Johnson recommended the council approve the project, saying he did not believe the city could wait any longer to address the problem.

The council approved to go to bid and to use the reserve funding for the project.
