Buffalo Council Approves Change For Cable Service

At their last meeting the Buffalo City Council Discussed a pending new provider's agreement with Optimum Cable after a number of years extending an existing agreement.

The council passed Resolution No. 1354, approving the change of control and extension of the existing franchise agreement to Charter Communications, who has acquired the interests of Optimum Cable in the western United States.

Kirven explained the Resolution is similar to one the city passed when Bresnan Cable sold out to Optimum and is just a formality in their FCC (Federal Communications Commission) application.

Kirven explains further.

Kirven also reported to the council that he has received two “soft acceptances” for easement agreements with residents for the NW Water Line Project.

Kirven said there are only six easements that need to be acquired and joked that having two of six done this early in the project is “exceptional” for him to have accomplished given his previous track record with easements.
