Buffalo Council Approves Bid For Picnic Shelter At Park

At their Tuesday meeting, the Buffalo City Council accepted a bid to construct a picnic shelter in Washington Park near the outdoor pool.

Sweckard Construction of Laramie gave the lone bid on the project at $47,517.

The exact location of the picnic shelter has not been determined yet, but will be just west of the outdoor pool entrance.

Public Works Director Les Hook explains the project further.

This will be the first shelter on that side of the park, Hook said.

The council accepted the bid from Sweckard Construction.

Hook also reported that the city's hot mix plant will be up and running this week. Crews were running fuel to the plant in preparation of firing it up. Once it is running, drews will begin filling potholes and making other street repairs throughout the city.

Councilman Russ Humphrey asked Hook what repairs were scheduled for Lobban Street, and Hook explained what is planned there.

Again, repairs to Buffalo's streets are expected to begin this week.
