Buffalo Council Amends This Year's Budget, Adds Funds

At last week's Buffalo City Council meeting, the budget for Fiscal Year 2012 was amended by council vote.
Resolution No. 1334 amended the budget to show a total increase of $654,000.
Mayor Randy Dyess explained during the meeting that Capital Reserves and Capital Improvement funds that were not expended in 2011 will pay for the new shop and firehall expansion and the motor grader, One-Percent funds budgeted for 2012-13 were used this year and will be re-imbursed in 2013 from future funds, and increased sewer rates were implemented to make the loan payment on the wastewater treatment plant.
The council discussed the issue for clarification.
The Resolution appropriated $148,000 for the motor grader; $315,000 for the cost of the shop; $181,000 for the wastewater treatment plant loan payment; and $10,000 for the cost of the firehall expansion.
