Buffalo Council Amends Budget For Building Purchase

The Buffalo City Council has amended their current year's budget to allow the city to purchase a building that will eventually house the city's sanitation department.

At their Tuesday meeting the council approved Resolution #1432, which approved the appropriation of $215,000 that will be used to purchase the property at 18 Plains Drive, previously owned by the Kaycee/Buffalo/Johnson County Economic Development Joint Powers Board.

The funds have been appropriated as $200,000 from money in lot sale reserves and an additional $15,000 from the sanitation department's reserves.

According to discussions, the building will be used to house additional sanitation trucks and sanitation containers.
