Buffalo is known as a giving community, whether for charities, fundraisers or just about any other group or organization looking for a hand.

This Christmas, as with many others in the past, residents came together to see that senior citizens of Buffalo had a good Christmas as well.

Last Friday, during the lunch hour, Buffalo's seniors were given their filled stockings for Christmas.

The Senior Stocking Program was again a big success, according to Sally Frost, Interim Director at the Buffalo Senior Center.

Frost said the stockings are filled with many useful and fun items like travel-size shampoos and hand lotion, gift cards from local stores, candy, lip balm and playing cards. Items that will certainly be used, Frost added.

The seniors, many of whom are shut-ins or who don't have family for Christmas, are excited to get their stockings.

The Senior Stocking Program has become a favorite Holiday tradition in Buffalo.
