Buffalo City Planner Discusses Rec Board Projects

The City of Buffalo has applied for five grants for five different recreation-related projects they hope to accomplish.
Buffalo City Planner Zach Montgomery said they are looking forward to hearing some good news from the Johnson County Recreation Board in July.

Montgomery and Public Works Director Les Hook gave the city's applications to the JC Rec Board at their meeting earlier this month, and he said the board had some recommendations for the city.

In addition to the skate park expansion, the other applications were for chemicals for the outdoor pool; a part-time summer employee for the Trails Board; playground equipment for the new city park in the Greenleaf Subdivision; and sports equipment for the soon-to-be-built sports fields complex.

Once the city gets notification of which projects were funded, Montgomery said the city can move quickly to begin implementing those projects.
