Buffalo City Council Welcomes New Member

Dan Hart was sworn into office as the newest Buffalo City Council member during Tuesday's regular meeting.

The rest of the council welcomed Hart to the position after his oath of office, given by Municipal Court Judge Mary Hupy, and he then took his seat for his first meeting.

Hart was appointed by the rest of the council last month, to serve out the two years remaining of former councilman Russ Humphrey, who passed away in December of 2016.

The council advertised the open seat on the council and took letters of interest from the public who wanted to serve the remainder of Humphrey's term.

Seven people submitted letters of interest for the open seat that was eventually filled by the appointment of Councilman Hart.
