Buffalo City Attorney On Nuisance Codes, Annexations

Buffalo City Attorney Ben Kirven told the city council during their last meeting that he and Municipal Judge Mary Hupy were reviewing the nuisance codes and will possibly be making changes to them.

Once the review is completed, he will bring the updated codes before the council for their consideration.

Kirven was asked by Mayor Mike Johnson about his progress on possible annexations of areas along Highway 16 East.

Kirven said he still needs to do some investigative work on the lands in the area to figure out what constitutes being contiguous to the city limits.

Mayor Johnson said it is important to the city to continue looking into the annexations so the city can benefit from the capture of the sales taxes from those commercial properties when they are annexed.
