Buffalo Accepts Bid for New Police Vehicle

The Buffalo City Council, at last week's meeting accepted a bid for a new police vehicle and a bid for outfitting the unit with lights, radios and other needed equipment.

Buffalo Police Chief Mike Chapman explained the bid to the council.

The bids that were accepted came from Greiner Ford of Casper for a 2011 Ford Expedition at a price of $27,143; and from Wireless Advanced Communications in the amount of $16,488.22 for outfitting the vehicle.

The city will not take possession of the vehicle until August, Chapman said, which is when Greiner Ford and Wireless Advanced Communications will expect payment.

WAC is also considering purchasing the old radio consoles from the soon-to-be-closed old jail, which may offset the cost of outfitting the new vehicle. Chapman said he would discuss the matter with WAC and report back to the council.
