BRBRC Encourages Investments In Renewable Energy

The Powder River Basin Resource Council has started an initiative to bring companies promoting renewable energy, such as wind or solar power, to Wyoming.

Shannon Anderson, a community organizer with the council, said implementing wind or solar power can be costly up front.

Given the reality that it can take decades for solar panels to pay for themselves via reduced energy bills, Anderson said part of the council's objective is to make renewable energy more accessible to individuals.

Anderson added that Wyoming currently does have a tax exemption for installation of renewable energy sources, but that exemption will expire July 1.
