Board Approves Rate Increase At Amie Holt Care Center

During their April meeting the Board of Trustees for the Johnson County Healthcare Center voted to increase the daily rate for private pay residents in the Amie Holt Care Center (AHCC).

The increase will go from the current $236 per day to $250 per day, and will take effect later this year.

New facility CEO Nicole Hobbs had proposed a 5% increase to $247 a day, but after discussions the board voted to round up to $250 per day.

Hobbs reported that traditionally, increases in the daily rate at the care center had been held at a $5 per day level each year, and had proposed that again this year, even though the facility has an cost of $270 per day for those rooms and services.

After comparing the cost of the rooms at the AHCC to rates from last year at other facilities in the region, the board chose to adopt the 5.9% rate increase.

Residents will need to be given a 60-day notice of the increase, so the effective date will tentatively be with the start of the next fiscal year on July 1st.
