BLM Public Review Of North Fork Bentonite Through July 23

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Buffalo Field Office recently announced the availability of a plan of operations for the proposed North Fork bentonite mining project northwest of Kaycee.

Black Hills Bentonite, LLC proposes to conduct new bentonite minig and reclamation on public lands located roughly 12 miles northwest of Kaycee.

Bentonite mining has been conducted in the area since the 1950s.

The project encompasses 120 acres including 80 acres of public lands.

To provide the public with an opportunity to review the proposal and project information, BLM has made this information available for viewing for 30 days at the BLM Buffalo Field Office at 1425 Fort Street, Buffalo or on the project web page at
