The City of Sheridan recently issued a Request for Proposal for five of the bison from the herd located at the Elk Pasture in Kendrick Park.

City Public Works Director Nic Bateson said that that the sale of the animals centers around population control.

During a City Council study session Monday, Bateson said that the herd recently grew by one, as a calf was born over the weekend. Proposals to purchase one or all of the bison that are for sale must be submitted to the City by 10 am, Thursday, June 22. He said that a committee has been put together to review the proposals.

Bateson said that the committee will bring the recommendations to the City Council in July sometime. He said that sealed proposals can be delivered to City Hall before the deadline on the 22nd.
