Big Bucks Bingo Benefits Rotary Students

Coming up Tuesday night in Buffalo is Big Bucks Bingo, an event to raise money for the Buffalo Rotary Club's Student Exchange Program.

This year, Buffalo has two students the local Rotary Club is sending overseas: Ridley Schiffer and Bonnie Swett.

Steve Adami, Youth Exchange Chairman with the Rotary Club, explains who the kids are and where they want to go.

In the past, Adami said, they have sent one student themselves and had another student sponsored through another club, such as Sheridan. But this year, no other clubs were able to sponsor one of Buffalo's kids, so the fundraiser became necessary.

The Rotary Exchange Program sends the kids on a school-year-long trip to a foreign country for them to live with a host family to learn the culture of the country.

Big Bucks Bingo will take place tonight at 6 pm at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Rec Hall. $20 a ticket gets the player two Bingo cards, allowing access to one $250 game, one $500 game and 18 $50 games.

Tickets are available at all four banks in Buffalo, any Rotary member, or at the door if they are still available.
