BHS Drama To Perform 'The Foreigner' This Weekend

The Buffalo High School Drama Department will perform the play “The Foreigner” this Friday and Saturday night at the BHS Auditorium.

Drama Coach Nancy Tabb tells us about the story and more on the play itself.

The main character must keep pretending he doesn't speak English while he is able to understand everything being said around him. What ensues, according to Tabb, are some very funny situations, some involving slapstick humor.

The play has been on Tabb's “bucket list” for awhile and now they have the opportunity to perform it.
It is one of the Top-10 plays performed in high schools today, and has been performed on Broadway with actor Matthew Broderick playing the title role.

Tabb said the play has a lot of 1980s humor that during the early rehearsals she realized the students weren't getting, and she had to explain the references to them.
The students were concerned the audiences would not get the humor, but she said she has (hopefully) convinced them they will.

“The Foreigner” will be performed Friday and Saturday night at 7pm.
There is no admission fee to attend, but donations to offset costs will be appreciated.
