Armed Standoff Ends Without Incident

At approximately 12:29 Wednesday afternoon, deputies with the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a domestic dispute at an address in Ranchester.

After an initial investigation at the scene in Ranchester, Sheriff’s deputies notified local law enforcement to search for an adult male in a black car with Utah license plates. According to information provided by the Sheriff’s Office, troopers with the Wyoming Highway Patrol located the vehicle on Interstate 90 and a pursuit ensued near Sheridan.

Deputies and troopers were assisted by officers with the Sheridan Police Department in attempting to stop the subject and keep him away from populated areas. The driver eventually stopped near exit 33 on I-90 and was known to be armed. Lieutenant Travis Koltiska with the Police Department was instrumental in negotiating a surrender and the subject was arrested without incident. The case is under investigation and a complete list of charges and the name of the individual that was arrested will be released at a later time.
