ARC March Against Family Violence Set for Saturday

The Sheridan Advocacy and Resource Center will be hosting their annual March Against Family Violence on Saturday morning. ARC Volunteer Coordinator and Victim Advocate Cassidy Drew explained that they hold this march each year in October to coincide with Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Through the march, Drew said they want to carry the message that family violence is not acceptable, families are too important to lose to family violence, children are too important to sacrifice to the cycle of violence, and community is too important to suffer the lasting effects of family violence. The march will begin Saturday morning at 9 from the Sheridan County Courthouse and end at Whitney Commons park where there will beverages and snacks provided. Attendants are encouraged to wear purple in support of Domestic Violence Awareness.
