The relationship between Kendrick Park Pool and the aquatic center at the Sheridan County YMCA was the focus of discussion at Monday night’s Sheridan City Council study session. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

The Council, at their regularly scheduled meeting on September 3, awarded the bid for an expanded design and engineering of the Kendrick Park Pool to Interstate Engineering. At Monday’s study session, Sheridan County YMCA Executive Director Elisabeth Cassiday requested that the City not move too far along with the future plans for the outdoor pool until after the aquatic center has opened and has been operational for a little while. City Public Works Director Lane Thompson said that the contract with Interstate Engineering is for only 30 percent of the design of the pool.

Mayor Roger Miller said that while an exact resolution was not met, the City and the “Y” are on the same page.

The YMCA Aquatic Center is on schedule to be complete in January of next year, while the 30 percent design and engineering for Kendrick Pool will be complete by mid January.
