Annual Trees Of Love Lighting Ceremony To Take Place At Hospital First Sunday In December

The 22nd annual tree lighting ceremony for the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Christmas Trees of Love will be Sunday December 6th at 4:30pm in the front lobby of the hospital. Lights can be purchased with a donation of $5.00 now through December. Hospital Community Relations Director Cecile Pattison says that the lights have a number of different meanings.

Pattison said that while many people purchase lights for someone who is no longer living, the lights also make an excellent holiday gift for a friend, neighbor, or loved one.

With a $5.00 donation, the Hospital Auxiliary will send a card to the honoree or family informing them of the dedication. Donations should be sent in prior to the tree lighting on December 6th in order to be acknowledged with a card. Donations after the 6th will be acknowledged through January 2010. The honoree's name will also be inscribed in the Book of Love, which will be on display in the hospital lobby during the holidays.

Application forms for the lights are available at the hospital's front desk or in businesses and offices throughout the community. They are also available at the hospital's website at
