Ag Center Construction to Start Next Year

The proposed new Mars Ag Center at Sheridan College is currently being designed, according to Facilities Director Kent Anderson.

Construction is scheduled to start in May next year, with completion in June 2016. He said work includes construction of 18,000 square feet of new space, plus a remodel of some existing space.

He elaborated on what the project will include.

The facilities director said CTA is designing the project, and Groathouse Construction of Big Horn is the project construction-manager-at-risk. In a report to legislators at a forum in Sheridan last week, Sheridan College President Dr. Paul Young said the $8 million Mars Ag Center project is now fully funded.

Funds include an initial donation of $4 million from Jacomien and Forrest E. Mars Jr. of Big Horn, another $1.3 million from the Whitney Benefits foundation, and $2.7 million from the state of Wyoming.
