Sheridan's Advocacy and Resource Center set a goal to raise $15,000 at Monday's Dining for a Cause event at Frackelton's.

Rhonda Weber, who's assistant director of the nonprofit organization, explained why.

Among diners for the lunch-time event was Lisa Lunbeck, who said this was her first time to attend a Dining for a Cause event.

Ashly Miller, who was serving customers for the first time at this week's Dining for a Cause, and who spoke with Sheridan Media a little after lunch started at 11 a.m., said the event seemed to be going really well.

Miller said in addition to proceeds from the meals, Frackelton's also matches the gratuities that staff receives.
