Johnson County Healthcare Center Administrator Sandy Ward gave a financial report to the board at their monthly meeting in late October, telling them the situation financially is good at the moment, but cautioned them that he expects things to change soon.

Ward told the board that the healthcare center has enjoyed three months of significantly high revenues, but that has slowed in October.

In July and August, revenue was between $1.3 and $1.4 million, and had decreased slightly in October to between $1.1 and $1.2 million.

Ward explained to the board that so far this fiscal year, gross revenue has been strong, but was down in the care center, due to tricky billing and reimbursement issues with Medicaid.

Overall, the healthcare center is $179,000 below budget for expenses and $280,000 ahead in operating gains, for a net plus of $262,000 bottom line so far for the fiscal year.

Ward also reported revenues in the clinic up $50,000 this year over the same period last year. On a related note, Memorials and Donations to the facility totalled $480 for the month of October.
