The United State Forest Service has granted a 5-year Ski Area Term Special Use Permit to the Antelope Butte Foundation. Foundation Executive Director John Kirlin explained that the permit authorizes the Antelope Butte Mountain Recreation Area to offer year round services.

Other planned activities include summer rental of the yurt facility and grooming and marking of trails. Kirlin said that the 5 year permit reduces the workload for the ABF and the USFS as they will not be going through the lengthy process each and every year.

In other ABF news, a capital campaign is currently underway to fund the reopening of the lodge and the Annual Bighorn Mountain Brewfest is set to take place at the recreation area at the end of the month.
