$4.5 Mil In Grants Sought For Supercomputer Road

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A board is recommending $4.5 million in state grants for road and infrastructure improvements for a supercomputing facility west of Cheyenne.
The State Loan and Investment Board, which has the final say, will consider the recommendation from the Wyoming Business Council on April 8.
National Center for Atmospheric Research-Wyoming Supercomputing Center will include a supercomputer within a 150,000-square-foot facility will be used to study climate change, air quality, severe weather and other atmospheric science topics. Construction is expected to begin next spring or summer and the facility is scheduled to open in 2011 or 2012.
The facility is expected to cost $66 million, not counting computing hardware.

Super Computer in Wyoming?? Nice!

I hope this project gets approved, win for Wyoming! I agree though that the picture of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department makes little sense, is there a reason for the picture?

I'm not sure what the deal

I'm not sure what the deal is with the G&F picture. I think perhaps Shane was a bit confused when he posted this story... I'll try to get in touch with him to get it fixed.

Still trying to comprehend

Still trying to comprehend what the Wyoming Game and Fish Department has to do with this story. Nice picture... do you even read the stories before putting photos with them?
