About 440 employees at Sheridan Memorial Hospital have donated about $40,000 this year to the hospital foundation.

Ada Kirven, who's the foundation's director of donor relations, said those employees – who are called employee partners – will be celebrated at the foundation's annual Employee Partner Breakfast next week.

The event will be next Thursday, from 6:30 to 9 a.m in the hospital cafeteria and will include a specialty coffee bar, music and cash prizes. The event, open to current partners and all hospital employees, also gives the employee partners a chance to vote on how their funds will be spent.

Kirven said the employee partner program was started in 2004.

She said employees can choose how much they want to donate, and since 2004, employees have donated about $410,000 to the foundation.

Kirven said participation in the employee partners program is up to the individual employee, but information is available on how they can sign up. She said everyone is welcome to join, and contributions range from $1 up to $40 per paycheck.

Kirven said the partner program is just one of many ways that Sheridan Memorial Hospital's employees give to the hospital and to the community.

She said the hospital and hospital foundation are proud of the employees and their participation in the partner program.
