The 11th Annual Jackalope Jump A Success

This years annual Jackalope Jump was a huge success. Cars lined the street while crowds of people milled around. There were many smiles and good natured jokes while the jumpers got in line. For those who did not jump, there were “Too chicken to jump” t-shirts for sale. The Jackalope Jump is a fundraiser that supports the Special Olympics. Carrie Pilcher has been with Special Olympics for 17 years and talks about their fundraisers.

Special Olympics helps those with disabilities to stay active and pursue a goal. They have events ranging from ice skating to rollerblading. The organization provides a platform to make friends and to create memories. The Special Olympics was founded in 1968 with the goal to provide the same opportunities to those with special needs.
