Several cases were heard in Sheridan County Circuit Court Thursday afternoon. Among them, 49-year-old Dennis Poitra, Sr. of Dayton made his Initial Appearance before Judge John Sampson on two charges: DUI and Driving Under Suspension. Poitra, Sr. is the father of Dennis Poitra, Jr., who is awaiting trial at the end of the summer for his alleged part in the Robert Ernst murder.

David Selig Receives Sentence

On February 3rd, 2010, Sheridan resident David Selig went to trial in Sheridan County Circuit Court on multiple charges on three different dates in 2008 and 2009 having to do with Possession of Controlled Substance - Marijuana; Driving Under the Influence; Property Destruction.

Kidnap Suspect Arrested After Chase

Troopers arrest kidnap suspect near Casper.

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Highway Patrol says a high-speed car chase in Casper has resulted in the arrest of a man suspected of kidnapping a Colorado woman and two children. The patrol says the kidnap victims, including children aged 3 weeks and 8, are safe.

Freudenthal Weighs In On PAWS Assessment

Proficiency Assessments for Wyoming Students, better known as PAWS, is the assessment system developed by the Wyoming Department of Education in conjunction with NCS Pearson. PAWS assesses students from around the state in reading, writing, math, and science.

Longtime Sheridan Media employee Ron Richter was named News Director last week. Ron has been with our company since August 2001, graduating from Brown College in Mendota Heights, MN, with an Associates Degree in Broadcasting.

Code RED Suspect Identified

A media release from the Sheridan Police Department Friday morning indicates that a possible suspect has been identified and cited in relation to the CODE RED phone alert from Tuesday, April 13th.
