Wood & Ligocki down Laramie 6-0, 6-0

Entering the third day of the longest home stand of the season on Saturday morning the Sheridan girls #1 Doubles Team got off to a great start. Hailey Ligocki and Rachel Wood, on the right, defeated Laramie's Rachael Peterson and Nikki Vaporis 6-0, 6-0.

The #5 Ranked Rams down Burns 44 - 22

Following a great run by Ram Scott Passini Big Horn's Quarterback Connor McCafferty keeps the ball runs left and dives into the end zone with Bronc Austin Burkett on his heals for the first score with 3:17 to go in the 1st quarter against the Burns Broncs Friday afternoon at Big Horn.

Vehicle Fire On N. Main

Sheridan Fire-Rescue, Sheridan Police Department, and Rocky Mountain Ambulance responded to a vehicle fire in the 2400 block of North Main at 7:15 pm on Thursday. The fire involved a 2000 Dodge 1500 4x4. The engine compartment of the pickup was fully involved in fire on arrival. Fire also damaged the interior or the vehicle. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire On The Mountain

The Gilead Fire now spans 4430 acres 10 miles northwest of Buffalo and eight miles southwest of Story. The fire, as seen here from the HF Bar Ranch and UM Ranch, was started Aug. 14 by lightening, but has grown exponentially in the past week. (Photos by Michelle Jensen)

Mikah Sweeny Wins JV Crosscountry

On a hot last day of August on the grounds of the Sheridan VAMC at Fort Mackenzie it was freshman Mikah Sweeny to come in first during the 5th Annual Running of the Michelle Ludwig Invitational Crosscountry Meet. In the varsity meet Sheridan's top runners were Kyle Dietsche who finished in 9th place for the boys and Katie Rotellini who finished in 19th place for the girls.

Gunnar Edeen Guns A Big League Kick

In a losing cause Friday night in the 100th meeting between the Casper Natrona Mustangs and the Sheridan Broncs Gunnar Edeen hits a 51-yard field goal out of the hold of Kameron Eckard with 5.44 to go in the 1st half. The kick by Gunnar gave the Broncs their first home field points of the new season.

T.J. Headed Home to Redmond Oregon a Big Winner

In rodeo terminology T.J. McCauley is headed for "home" after having rounded the third barrel to finish Senior Barrel Racing with a time of 18.688. However before the day was over T.J. would head "home" to Redmond Oregon with a 2012 Ford Truck, thanks to Fremont Motor Sheridan, while pulling a three horse slant load goose neck Jackson trailer, thanks to Prime Rate Motors.

The intermediate roping team of Jake Deveraux and Colter Ellis took home first place buckles for Intermediate Dally Team Roping that included this capture during Sunday's conclusion of the 20th Annual Elks Youth Rodeo that was held at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds.

It's Football Season

On Friday afternoon at Big Horn the Thermopolis Bobcats were threatening to score near the 8-minute mark of the 1st quarter when their quarterback Kaden Haun looked like he had a "for sure completion" to his receiver Zach Larson in the end zone on what would have been the first score of the game.
