The people’s Christmas tree was passing through Sheridan Tuesday morning on its way from Alaska to Washington D.C. and I didn’t want to miss my chance to be a part of history.

Stories of the prisoners of war who served in either the European or Pacific theaters of World War II will be presented today at the senior center in Sheridan to commemorate Veterans Day.

Several events have been planned today throughout the local area to honor veterans. All are open to the public, free of charge. Two ceremonies will be held, at 11 this morning, one in Sheridan and the other in Buffalo.

The Sheridan County Library System will be celebrating the 150-year anniversary of the classic children’s book “Alice in Wonderland” over the next few weeks with several activities that are free and open to the public. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

An annual tradition is being held again this year. Sheridan Media reporter Pat Blair has the story.

A Sheridan man was sentenced in district court in Sheridan Tuesday for conspiring to deliver heroin over a two-year period that started in May 2013.

A 17-year-old Gillette woman was sentenced in circuit court in Sheridan Tuesday on four violations of state game and fish violations.
