October 4th


Jake Mangis a sophomore won the long round in the team roping with partner Corbin Nichols from CWC, they had a time of 6.8, they roped their steer fast in the short round, but Jake only managed to snag a leg which added a 5 second penalty to their time of 6.2 making it a 11.2 on 2 which placed them 5th in the short round and 5th in the average.

Matt Schieck a sophomore with his brother Brad Schieck from UW placed third in the long round in the team roping with a time of 7.3, they drew a good steer in the short round but Brad was unable to catch him, so they placed 7th in the average.


X-COUNTRY - The Sheridan high school cross country teams close out their regular season tomorrow at a meet in Helena, Montana.

Head coach Art Bauers has a young and talented group of runners on both teams this fall and he says with the season coming to close in three weeks a sense of urgency has taken over the runners.

And he says the young Bronc and Lady Bronc runners have done a good job this fall of staying competitive.

SHERIDAN COLLEGE HOOPS - The Sheridan college basketball teams are about four weeks out from officially starting the basketball regular season.

Practice officially got underway Saturday and Lady Generals head coach Frank McCarthy says he likes what he's seen from this year's group of players.

And it looks like depth will not be a factor this year as it has been in the last few season as it looks several players will contribute on the court this season.

Weekend Bison Sports Results

The Bison cross country team had a good showing overall at the Worland Invite September 29th.
The girls' JV team took 2nd, with strong finishes from Courtney Dyess, 5th, Kathryn Eklund, 7th, and Audryanna Carder at 10th.
The JV boys finished fifth, the varsity boys sixth and the varsity girls eighth, with the top finishers for the girls Mikki Horton at 8th and for the boys, Isaac Kiefer at 15th.
Next up for the cross country team is the Buffalo Invite at 4pm Thursday.

Broncs Take Down Gillette in the Energy Bowl / state tennis

Broncs 38 Gillette 14 Jordan Roberts three TDF runs and one TD pass and became the all-time single season rushing leader in Sheridan high school history.

Haliey Ligocki won the girls number two singles state tennis title and the number one doubles team of Gigi Ruskowsky and Cameron Street also won a state title.

Fenner Leads Bison Over Riverton 38-13

Buffalo's Aaron Fenner had touchdown runs of 65, 49 and 68 yards and added a touchdown reception to lead the Bison to a 38-13 win over the Riverton Wolverines Friday night in Buffalo.
The Bison had a 3-0 lead at the end of the first quarter, and early in the second, Fenner peeled off the first of his three scores, a 65-yard run to give Buffalo a 10-0 lead.
A fumbled snap later in the quarter set the Wolverines up with good field position deep in Bison territory and they took advantage, scoring on a pass play to pull Riverton to within three at 10-7.

Jordan Roberts showed up big in his return to Gillette Friday night, leading the Sheridan Broncs to a 38-14 win over the Gillette Camels in the Energy Bowl. Sheridan Media's Trevor Jackson has the recap.
