BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Broncs start a full week of two a day work outs today and they get ready to open defense of their 2009 4-A state title. the regular season begins August 27th at Casper Kelly Walsh.

Bronc Football Opens Practice Monday Morning

SHS football coach Don Julian leads the Broncs into their football leadership camp this weekend

SHERIDAN BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Bronc football coaches along with a handful of team leaders will head up into the Big Horn mountains today for a two day leadership camp. Head coach Don Julian says is a tradition that gets the season started on a positive note.

The players and coaches will host a meeting with the football parents Sunday afternoon at Sheridan high school and Julian says it's the players that set the tone for the up coming season.

The Sheridan Rec District is gearing up for a busy fall season.

SHERIDAN REC DISTRICT SERIES - We've been talking and highlighting Sheridan Rec District Fall programs this week. One of the more popular fall programs over the past several years has been the Men's Flag Football League. Adult sports specialist Dale Boedecker says a league planning meeting is coming up soon.

REC DISTRICT SERIES - We continue our series this week with the Sheridan Recreation District as they get ready to change seasons with a tennis tournament this weekend and a special senior citizens road trip later this month.

Just a few weeks remain in the Kendrick Park pool season in Sheridan.

SHERIDAN REC DISTRICT - With fall sports getting started over the next few weeks, Kendrick Pool's days are limited and will close for the season in a few weeks.

Sheridan Recreation District sports specialists Nick Dore is in charge of Kendrick Pool this summer, and he says it's been a banner year for swimming hours at the pool. Dore says attendance for all their programs has gone way up this year.

WYOMING AMERICAN LEGION STATE BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers baseball season ended Friday at the state tournament with a loss to Powell they finished the tournament in 5th place.

After losing in the opening round against Laramie the Troops beat Rock Springs Thursday and were eliminated by Powell Friday morning. They end the season with 30 victories.

Cheyenne Post 6 made it a clean sweep winning four straight games and winning the Wyoming state championship in nine of the last ten years. Cheyenne beat Gillette in a great game Friday night 4-3 in the winner's bracket semi final.

Troopers Get Bumped From Tournament; Rockies Roll Over the Cubs

TROOPERS- The Sheridan Troopers season came to an end Friday morning as they were eliminated from the American Legion State Baseball Tournement being held at Thorne-Rider Stadium in Sheridan. Powell jumped out to a commanding 12-0 lead and never trailed in the game and won by a final of 15-7. Powell went on to beat Laramie Friday afternoon to earn a regional bid, while the two top teams squared off in the nightcap, with Cheyenne edging Gillette 4-3. The two teams will butt heads again this evening at 7 o'clock.

The State American Legion Baseball Tournament Continues in Sheridan Today

AMERICAN LEGION STATE BASEBALL - The state American legion baseball tournament continues today with the Sheridan Troopers still alive after beating Rock Springs yesterday.

The Troops built up a huge lead and eliminated Rock Springs from the tournament 19-8 Head coach Ben Phillips says it as a good day to get all the players into the ball game.


The Sheridan Troopers beat Rock Springs 19-8 today and advance into Friday at the State American Legion Baseball tournament. The Troops will play either Powell or Cheyenne tomorrow morning at 9:30

Wyoming State Junior Open Tennis

Sheridan has good results at the Wyoming state Junior Open Tennis Championships

Local junior tennis players represented Sheridan well at the Wyoming Junior Open Tennis Tournament in Casper over the weekend.

Gigi Ruskowsky took first place in the Girls 18 Doubles, Reed Ritterbush took first place in the Boys 14 Singles and Boys 14 Doubles as well as winning the consolation championship in the Boys 16 Singles.

Julia Fenn took first place in the Girls 16 Doubles, second place in the Girls 16 Singles and was the consolation champion in the Girls 18 Singles.
